HOUSTON (Aug. XX, 2015) Today, Texas Executive Women (TEW) announced the Women on the Move Class of 2015. The Women on the Move Award recognizes the business and civic achievements of ten top female leaders, while the Rising Star award spotlights one young professional woman up-and-comer. The Houston area honorees will be awarded during TEW’s 30th Annual Women on the Move Awards Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at the Hilton Americas-Houston, 1600 Lamar Street, Houston, TX 77010.
The selection process was especially challenging this year because we received nearly 90 applications, which was a record number of entries for us, said Shira Yoshor, 2015 Women on the Move luncheon co-chair. The candidate pool was exceptional. Houston has a wealth of professional women making significant contributions, both professionally and in the community. As we examined each entry, we were overwhelmed at the level of female leadership and diversity in our city.
We invite everyone to celebrate the phenomenal achievements of the honorees who embody the spirit of the Women on the Move Award emanating qualities such as tenacity, courage, selflessness, and humility, said prior Women on the Move Award recipient Debra Ibarra Mayfield, 2015 Women on the Move luncheon co-chair.
